Oculus which was acquired by Facebook in 2014 has planned to partner with Xioami to make a new virtual reality standalone headset Oculus Go was announced at the CES event 2018. It had also announced that it would be launching a version of the product, especially for the chines market. The two company made an announcement during Qualcomm keynote address in the event.
Oculus also said that Xiaomi would be its hardware partner for the new Oculus Go VR headset announced in last October and the Chinese company would be making its Mi VR headset using Oculus technology. This will be an interesting mix to see both the companies coming up with a gaming VR headset.
The company also said that it is working with Qualcomm to use the company’s Snapdragon 821 chipsets to power the VR headset. The Oculus Go will be releasing in early 2018, starting at a price of $199 (approx Rs 12600) in India.
